35％ 的憂鬱症患者兩年內復發

憂鬱症容易復發，根據世界衛生組織2001年的報告指出，第一次罹患憂鬱症的患者，在復原以後的兩年內大約有35％的人會復發，而復原以後的12年內則會有60％的人憂鬱症復發，特別是45歲以上的人，憂鬱症復發率還會更高。憂鬱症的其中一項可能的悲劇結果是「自殺」，大約15∼20％的憂鬱症患者會以自殺來結束生命。

The recurrence rate for those who recover from the first episode is around 35% within 2 years and about 60% at 12 years. The recurrence rate is higher in those who are more than 45 years of age. One of the particularly tragic outcomes of a depressive disorder is suicide. Around 15–20% of depressive patients end their lives by committing suicide. Suicide remains one of the common and avoidable outcomes of depression.
